Working/Functional TitleTriage LPNPosition SummaryJob SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support within the Surgical and Specialty Services Clinic under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. Responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, documenting clinical information, coordinating care, and supporting a positive patient experience while ensuring high standards of quality and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or providerObtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical informationAdminister medications, injections, and treatments as orderedAssist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care activitiesMonitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare teamEducate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up careMaintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentationCoordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointmentsEnsure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and clinic policiesSupport a positive, patient-centered environment through compassionate care and teamworkOther duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsKnowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, or trade school in a Licensed Practical Nurse program with relevant course work in Pharmacology; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a hospital or ambulatory care clinic; requires computer experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
