Job Description:R&D Assembly TechnicianPosition Overview:The R&D Assembly Technician is a hands-on, contract role supporting the development and assembly of medical devices. This position will support the execution of early-stage R&D manufacturing builds, working with both manual and semi-automated equipment to assemble intricate, small-scale components. The ideal candidate brings a technical mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Responsibilities :Perform manual and semi-automated assembly of small, intricate components for early-stage R&D buildsOperate and maintain basic manufacturing and inspection equipment in a cleanroom or lab environmentFollow detailed work instructions, assembly drawings, and process documentationRecord observations, process data, and build outcomes to support engineering analysisCollaborate with engineers to share feedback, suggest improvements, and support process refinementAssist in setup and troubleshooting of assembly fixtures and semi-automated toolsSupport documentation of learnings, deviations, and process updates as neededKey Decision Rights:Provide input on assembly process improvements and tooling usabilityCommunicate observations and potential issues during builds to the engineering teamRequired Skills and Competencies:Comfortable working with small parts under a microscope or magnificationBasic understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processesAbility to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus on repetitive tasksStrong communication skills and willingness to ask questions and learnFamiliarity with basic computer tools for data entry and documentationExperience working in a regulated manufacturing or R&D environment preferredEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, R&D, or assembly tech/operator roleExperience in medical device or cleanroom environments is a plusAdditional Information:Role is based in Acton, MA and requires on-site presence 5 days per week.Cleanroom gowning and adherence to GMP/ISO standards may be requiredExpected shift hours are 8am - 5pmStart Date - End Date: Jun 15 – Dec 11, 2026
