Intake Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical administrative support, understanding how insurance payments are applied for patients in skilled nursing environments, and be proficient in computerized systems. The Intake Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth intake process for our patients, providing exceptional customer service, and accurately documenting patient information. This position requires a strong background in medical scheduling and a high level of comfort with computerized systems, including EMR systems. Duties: - Manage the intake process for patients, including scheduling appointments and ensuring timely communication with providers and the supervisor. - Review and document patient information, ensuring accuracy and completeness. - Utilize computerized systems, including Ethizo, to maintain patient records and perform administrative tasks. - Notify the Billing Specialist to follow up with patients and insurance companies to resolve any outstanding balances. - Ensure that all patient information is confidential and HIPAA compliant. - Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control policies and procedures. - Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Previous experience in medical administrative support is preferred. - Proficiency in computerized systems, including EMR programs. - Strong typing skills, with the ability to type at least 50 words per minute. - Experience with documentation review and medical collection is a plus. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. - Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
