About Gravity LabsGravity Labs is a crypto focused venture studio. We don't write checks and wait. We come up with initial ideas, pressure test those ideas, recruit the founding team, and write the first seed check ourselves. We're owned by defy.vc, which gives us institutional firepower and a network most studios don't have.Today we have three live portfolio companies, a fourth launching in weeks, and an active pipeline of new hatches. We're small, fast, and unapologetically opinionated about what gets built.What you'll doEvaluate a range of potential startup ideas with an eye towards finding the one you’ll ultimately go work on full-time as a Founder. Concretely:Generate and source new hatches (our term for company ideas) across crypto, including DeFi, stablecoins, infra, prediction markets, and anything that looks like a real gap in the ecosystem.Take the best ideas from a few sentences to one pager to investment memo to IC pitch, following Gravity's hatch process.Use the Gravity team and advisor network as a sounding board, but drive the work yourself.Spend time with the existing team and portfolio without being deeply embedded in their day to day.By month six, have at least one idea that you believe in enough to become the Founder of.You choose what to work on. The CEO of Gravity and the Defy IC ultimately sign off on funding, but the agenda is yours.Who we're looking forYou are a repeat founder, ideally with a crypto exit or a notable swing and miss. Or a senior operator from a strong crypto company, such as a product or engineering leader, GM, or first few employees type, who is ready to start something.Deep enough in crypto to have opinions about where the next decade goes. Generalist within crypto is fine; we're open across sub-sectors.Comfortable working in ambiguity and generating your own idea flow. Nobody is going to hand you ideas.Honest about what you don't know. Objectivity about what will work. Intellectual honesty is a core value.CompensationStipend: $10k per month over six months. Think of this as runway to focus, not market comp.Equity on what you bring in: if you originate a hatch that Gravity funds, you get equity in that company.Founder equity if you take the seat: if you become the founding CEO/CTO of a Gravity company, you get standard founder equity (20-30%).Flexibility on commitment: full time focus is preferred.
