Paid overtime may be available.\n\nJOB SUMMARY\n\nAs a Mechanical Design Engineer in Cypress, TX, you will:\n\nDrive mechanical design engineering initiatives for Systems Solutions, supporting strategic growth and customer‑focused project outcomes\nLead and coordinate medium‑scale mechanical engineering designs within a rapidly expanding business segment\nDevelop innovative mechanical designs and provide expert technical guidance on active engineering projects\nServe as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams, ensuring on‑time delivery and high‑value engineering solutions\nImprove clarity, manufacturability, and execution across all mechanical design recommendations\nCollaborate with the Senior ETO (Engineering‑to‑Order) Design Manager and engineering partners across the organization\nOversee creation and release of engineering drawings, analyses, test plans, and technical documentation\nSelect and specify mechanical components required for project construction\nCreate new parts and Bills of Material (BOMs) and upload them into the ERP system\nTrack, support, and report mechanical design changes throughout the full project lifecycle\nProvide documentation support to application engineering, sales, and estimating teams\nPartner with manufacturing and production teams to resolve build challenges and improve assembly processes\nPrepare quote packages and recommend design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce cost\nApply mechanical engineering standards across design reviews, documentation, and project deliverables\nWork collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners\nContribute to projects that impact communities in Houston, Katy, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, Jersey Village, Hockley, Waller, and Magnolia, and the greater Houston, TX metro\nApply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required\n2-5 years experience preferred\nExperience with mechanical systems including sheet metal enclosures, structural assemblies, and thermal management solutions\nBackground in small‑ to medium‑scale system design such as electrical enclosures, panel layout, seismic considerations, and heat management\nProficiency with major ERP and CAD platforms including SolidWorks and AutoCAD\nWorking knowledge of mechanical engineering standards including ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)\nSkilled in generating and reviewing engineering documentation such as Bills of Material, engineering drawings, tolerance stack‑ups, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools\nExcellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills\nStrong written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth engineering environment\nUnderstanding of structural and thermal analysis using FEA and CFD tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar platforms\nSKILLS AND VALUES\nCapable of working independently and as a team member\nStrong work ethic and unwavering integrity\nExcellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset\nCuriosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking\nEffective verbal and written communication\nDesire to work on a variety of projects\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\n\nPlease consider joining Applied's team of talented employees in Cypress, TX and the greater Houston, TX metro area.\n\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
