Login to Apply Administrative Assistant, PrincipalJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 05/04/2026 CLOSING DATE: 05/18/2026 11:59 PM POSTING NUMBER: 00007792 LOCATION: Reading Jr. High POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant, PrincipalJOB DESCRIPTION:Primary Purpose: To assist and relieve supervisor of clerical work so that maximum attention may be devoted to educational administration.RESPONSIBILITIES:Major Responsibilities and DutiesTake and transcribe dictation of various types.Maintain filing system.Process correspondence as instructed.Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.Receive all incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.Type requisitions, order supplies as needed, and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies for assigned campus.Monitor school budget, controlling expenditures.Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.Perform bookkeeping tasks associated with the position.Duplicate printed materials as needed.Attend workshop and/or seminars for professional development.Promote good public relations.Attendance at work is an essential function.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification:High school diploma or G.E.D.30 credited college hours OR five years of experience as an administrative assistant or similar office experience preferredValid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Proficiency in typing, word processing and data entryWorking knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machinesAbility to greet the public both in person and by telephoneExpertise in math concepts and use of 10-key calculatorOTHER INFORMATION:Equipment Used: Computer (data entry and word processing), printer, calculator, copy machine and typewriter. Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds), reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, standing, climbing (intermittent), repeated bending (intermittent), operation of motor vehicle, specific visual requirements (using computer, bookkeeping), specific hearing requirements (oral and phone conversations).
