Extended Learning Student Accounts Manager

Job Overview The Manager Student Accounts will analyze financial information, prepare financial reports and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures for the Extended Learning Department. The incumbent will also be responsible for creating and documenting system processes, procedures and training of end-users. The incumbent will address customers with billing and payment issues and provide support to internal and external customers. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounting & BudgetReconcile customer accounts on a consistent basis to ensure the departmental revenue is accurately reportedMonitor student accounts to ensure accuracy and that enrollment coincides with receipt of paymentDirect the day to day activities of subordinate financial team members, including providing training and guidance and manage workload during employee absences, taking on additional responsibilities to provide coverage when requiredProvide the necessary accounting support and data analysis for all special tasks assigned by the Director of Extended LearningMay assign work to and oversee support staff assisting with financial processesAssist with the revision, implementation and execution of the financial assistance processAssist with individual site program auditsReconcile bank statements and discrepancies with deposits and the student financial management systemsPrepare reports relating to enrollment, revenue, budget, projections, etc.Communication and CollaborationCommunicate with customers and staff regarding payments, financial assistance and online registration/paymentsWork in collaboration with Director of Extended Learning to develop and implement processes for department accounting procedures, including, but not limited to, billing, collection of tuition and fees and registrationCommunicate regularly with staff, parents, and children, members of the public, school administrators and district staff to foster a team approachActively market the department's programs to recruit and retain potential customers and staffSupervisory ResponsibilitiesParticipate in recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff membersSupervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staffResolve staff problems and administer staff progressive discipline Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily.
