Based at a community-based center in Herndon or Reston (VA), this position provides youth and adult participants with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world.\n\nUnder the direction of the on-site manager, the Instructor will lead developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive digital literacy instruction, individual coaching, and workforce training. The CTPI is part of an integrated resource center team providing holistic support to community members.\n\nThe CTPI will work closely with the on-site Directors and other centers-based staff and volunteers, and will coordinate where appropriate with other programming offered for adults and youth.\n\nProvides flexible shift, computer technology coverage as needed (generally 9-5, 12-8 and/or Saturdays) for program participants needing daytime/evening and/or weekend technology services.\n\nMajor Responsibilities\n\nInstruction & Facilitation\nPlan and deliver digital literacy, workforce readiness, and enrichment classes for adults and youth.\nProvide one-on-one coaching to help participants gain confidence using digital tools.\nCurriculum & Materials\nDevelop and adapt lesson plans and materials tailored to participant needs and learning styles.\nAssist with curriculum development and ongoing program evaluation.\nCommunity Engagement & Support\nConduct outreach and assist with participant registration and retention.\nMaintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environment.\nModel strong classroom facilitation and positive engagement with students and families.\nTechnology Support\nSet up, maintain, and troubleshoot technology used in instruction (laptops, projectors, software, etc.).\nEnsure equipment is accessible, functional, and secure.\nData & Administration\nTrack attendance, document outcomes, and assist with reporting.\nCollaborate with staff and community partners to support broader program goals.\n\nKey Predictors of Success\n\nDemonstrated passion for closing the digital divide in underserved communities.\nExperience working with diverse populations, including youth, adults, and immigrants.\nAdaptability in instructional delivery and classroom management.\nStrong communication and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.\nCommitment to cultural humility and community empowerment.\nAbility to integrate and supervise volunteers in supporting the program.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in education, information technology, social work, or related field – or equivalent experience.\nMinimum 2 years of teaching, coaching, or instructional support experience in community-based settings.\nProficiency in common digital tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, job search platforms, virtual learning platforms).\nBilingual in Spanish, Arabic, or other languages prevalent in Northern Virginia strongly preferred.\nExperience with curriculum development and instructional technology.\nAvailability to work some evenings and occasional weekends.\n\nCore Competencies\n\nAccountability: Manages tasks and deadlines reliably and accurately.\nCommunication: Listens with empathy;
