Behind every placement is our experienced operations team handling compliance, credentialing, and communication so you can focus on delivering exceptional care.Catalytic Solutions—where clinicians thrive, partners trust us, and healthcare staffing gets smarter. **Exciting Opportunity: Echo Vascular Ultrasound Technician (Weekends/Nights)** **Job Description:** - Join a dynamic team as an Echo Vascular Ultrasound Technician and play a vital role in patient care! - Under the supervision of the ultrasound supervisor, assist radiologists and physicians in conducting scans and films for accurate diagnoses. - Provide compassionate care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. - Utilize the Radiology Information System effectively as per the standard policies and procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Engage in age-specific patient care and interaction. - Complete comprehensive training and annual in-service education for age-specific care. - Participate actively in performance improvement initiatives. - Maintain a reliable schedule, clocking in on time and completing all tasks before leaving. - Deliver basic patient care and comfort, anticipating patient needs and establishing rapport with both patients and families. - Clearly explain procedures to gain the trust of patients and families. - Instruct patients on positioning and breathing techniques to enhance imaging quality. - Identify life-threatening situations and provide emergency care as allowed. - Transport patients to and from the ultrasound department as needed. - Confirm the accuracy of information and charges using the correct CP#. - Obtain, review, and correlate patient history, physical exams, and clinical data for optimal diagnostic results. - Perform ultrasound examinations following established procedures. - Conduct verbal, written, and physical assessments to gather necessary information. - Recognize significant clinical information from patients and medical records impacting sonographic examinations. - Produce, assess, evaluate, and interpret ultrasound images for medical diagnosis. - Provide interpreting physicians with a summary of technical findings. - Keep accurate records and document statistical information as required. - Retrieve patient information in PACS and transmit images to appropriate destinations. - Maintain an ultrasound log containing patient information and examination data. - Participate in quality assurance and infection control programs. - Ensure safe and effective equipment operations by inspecting for hazards. - Evaluate and document equipment performance and maintenance. - Maintain infection control by following universal precautions. - Stock labs with necessary equipment, linens, and supplies for procedures. - Dispose of linens appropriately. - Adhere to HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient rights and privacy are respected. - Confirm two forms of patient identification before any examination. - Stay within the scope of ultrasound practice and adhere to the professional code of conduct. - Attend continuing education to maintain professional competency. **Working Conditions:** - Ability to sit for extended periods; navigate stressful situations. - Exposure to diseases and potentially unpleasant odors. - Exposure to hazardous chemicals. **Physical Requirements:** - Utilize manual dexterity for transducer manipulation and computer work. - Lift and move supplies weighing 10-25 pounds; assist with patient transfers. - Push and pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds; stand for approximately 2 hours daily. - Walk throughout the hospital to assist patients; sit for over 3 hours during exams. - Climb stairs and utilize step stools as needed. - Use sense of touch to handle patients gently and assess vital signs. - Hear alarms, conversations, and essential equipment signals clearly. - Read and interpret medical information and communicate effectively. - Make reasoned decisions based on knowledge and experience. **Shift Information:** - Weekend nights: Friday 2300-0730, Saturday and Sunday 1500-0700. **Minimum Years of Experience:** - Less than 1 year preferred. **Certifications/Requirements:** - BLS/BCLS certification required. **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
