Creativity supports healing, resilience, and hope, and we are dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for young artists to grow.Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Grant Writer (Volunteer) to support our fundraising and development initiatives. In this role, you will research funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and contribute to projects that directly expand and sustain our programs. This is a collaborative and mission-driven position well suited to individuals with strong writing skills and an interest in nonprofit strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and identify grants, foundations, corporate sponsors, and relevant funding opportunitiesWrite, edit, and submit polished grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required documentationCollaborate with program and leadership teams to gather metrics, impact stories, and reportsTrack grant deadlines, application status, and reporting obligations in an organized systemAssist with donor communications, stewardship materials, and development-related writing as neededMonitor trends in nonprofit funding and contribute ideas for long-term development strategyQualifications1–2+ years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, development, or nonprofit communicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detailStrong research skills and ability to synthesize information clearlyProficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft OfficeAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environmentPassion for A Free Bird's mission and commitment to supporting meaningful impactAdditional DetailsRemote volunteer positionStandard commitment is 6 months, though shorter terms (3+ months) may be consideredFlexible scheduling, with some deadlines associated with grant cyclesMust have reliable internet and availability for virtual check-insHow to ApplyPlease send your resume to hr@afreebird.org with the subject line: Grant Writer Application
