Over 85% of our families live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.\nLearning to Work (LTW) for Transfer Schools will provide services to students, ages 15-21 that are over-aged for grade, under-credited, and have spent at least one year in another high school to earn a high school diploma and gain valuable vocational and life skills supports. Using the Primary Person Model, each student will have a Young Adult Career Advisor who will: guide students towards removing barriers toward graduation, engage students in college preparatory activities including creating a post-secondary plan for every student, provide supportive services, and increase self-direction and self-sufficiency. Each program has an Internship Developer who works with students to provide meaningful career exploration experiences, including providing an internship experience for all students who are interested.\nPosition: Program Director\nReports To: Program Manager\nLocation:3000 Avenue XBrooklyn, NY 11235\nWhat The Program Director Does:\n\nCommunicate effectively with students, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.\nPlan and organize program activities to maximize program contract’s goals and performance targets.\nMotivate, coach and counsel direct reporting staff to excel.\nImprove teamwork among direct reporting staff as well as among peers.\nTroubleshoot student and direct reporting staff program problems, and make decisions in accordance with program policies, procedures, and protocols.\nWork with direct reporting staff to improve work performance through feedback, training, and other appropriate mechanisms.\nOvercome resistance to change from students, direct reporting staff, and supervisors/funders. Administer constructive discipline to direct reporting staff, as needed.\nManage own time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize time of direct reporting staff.\nReview all documentation related to students’ progress for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.\nHold weekly meetings with principals.\nFacilitate weekly individual and team meetings\nOversee and maintain annual OTPS budget.\nLead and participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.\nProvide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.\nMonitor Clienttrack for appropriate data entry and accuracy.\nReview and sign timesheets.Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.\nMay maintain caseload as needed.\nMay prepare marketing materials for the program.\nMay reach out and market the program to the community in order to recruit students.\nMay prescreen students over the telephone for eligibility and may schedule intake appointments.\nMay conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and/or clients’ families and periodic reassessments.\nMay have direct client service/program responsibilities in addition to the above.\nMay plan, coordinate and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients.\nTasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.\n\nMinimum Education/Experience Required:\n\nBachelor’s degree (B. A. or B. S.) and two years of applicable experience. Master’s degree preferred. (A license is required of these Master’s Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, and Art Therapy).\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nMust obtain Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance.\nAbility to maintain fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.\nExperience with High School aged youth.\nAbility to adapt to the culture and environment of a public school\n\nCompensation: $63,663.60 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program.
