The ideal candidate will have experience working on rail transit project in Southern California. The successful candidate shall demonstrate basic knowledge of applicable federal, state and local standard and requirements and has an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development from conceptual design to design support during construction.\nIn the role of EIT Rail, we'll count on you to:\nSupport Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates\nTake responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks\nDevelop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager\nWork independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects\nGive direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed\nPerform other duties as needed\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with InRoads/InRail, OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D\nExperience with 3D modeling\n2+ years of experience in rail/transportation design\nCandidates hired without their EIT will be called a Rail Transit Designer and expected to obtain EIT for career progression\nStrong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously\nExperience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD\nLocal candidates preferred\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering\nEngineer in Training (EIT) certificate.\nBasic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD\nMS Office Applications experience\nStrong interest in railroad design\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\n\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
