This role is responsible for ensuring HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related mechanical systems are installed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.\nThe Quality Control Representative serves as the primary quality resource for assigned projects, performing inspections, coordinating testing and commissioning activities, reviewing technical documentation, and proactively identifying and resolving quality issues. This position works closely with project management, field personnel, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and general contractors to support successful project delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Control & Inspections\n\nDevelop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans.\nReview drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract documents to identify quality requirements.\nConduct field inspections of HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, equipment installations, supports, seismic bracing, firestopping, and related mechanical work.\nVerify compliance with project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and applicable codes.\nIdentify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.\nTesting, Commissioning & Documentation\n\nCoordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, duct leakage testing, TAB, start-up, and functional performance testing.\nMaintain inspection logs, testing records, deficiency logs, and daily quality reports.\nDocument findings through written reports and photographs.\nSupport project closeout activities and turnover documentation.\nProject Coordination\n\nCollaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Commissioning Agents.\nReview shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BIM models, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation.\nParticipate in coordination meetings and support resolution of quality concerns throughout project execution.\nContinuous Improvement\n\nIdentify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements.\nSupport development of company quality standards and installation best practices.\nAssist with quality training and mentoring of field personnel.\nDesired Skills and Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.\nOSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.\n7+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical construction experience.\n3+ years in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or field leadership role.\nExperience with healthcare, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similar complex facilities preferred.\nTechnical Knowledge\n\nStrong understanding of:\n\nHVAC systems and air distribution\nMechanical piping systems\nPlumbing systems\nEquipment installation and commissioning\nConstruction drawings and specifications\nIndustry codes and standards, including IMC, IPC, IBC, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, and OSHA requirements\nSoftware Skills\n\nExperience with:\n\nProcore\nAutodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360\nBluebeam Revu\nMicrosoft Office Suite\nMicrosoft Teams\nProfessional Skills\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nExcellent organizational and documentation abilities\nAttention to detail and problem-solving skills\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications\nRoot cause analysis and conflict resolution abilities\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced construction environments\nAdditional Notes\nThis position requires frequent work on active construction sites and the ability to walk sites, climb ladders, work in varying weather conditions, and wear required PPE.\nSuccess Measures\n\nPerformance may be measured by:\n\nFirst-time inspection pass rates\nReduced punch list and rework items\nQuality documentation accuracy\nSuccessful testing and commissioning outcomes\nCustomer satisfaction\nOn-time project turnover\nCompliance with project quality requirements\nOther duties may be assigned as needed to support project delivery and organizational objectives.\n\n#LI-CL1 #LI-Onsite\n\nAbout Legence\nLegence (Nasdaq: LGN) is a leading provider of engineering, consulting, installation, and maintenance services for mission-critical systems in buildings.
