Lead Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: -Oversees together with the supervisor the safe operation of the entire production floorResponsible to execute the production scheduleProvides supervision, technical support, and direction to all employees assigned to the machine groupResponsible for performing periodical extrusion line checksFollows company established procedures and enforces company regulationsCollaborates with Quality Assurance Department to resolve quality issuesCoordinates with the Compounding Department and Plant Management to ensure material is available for extrusionReports breakdowns and equipment problems to Shift MaintenanceDirects housekeeping efforts to maintain a clean and hazard free work areaEnforce material packaging standards and scrap segregation requirementsReceive and direct incoming phone calls during non-business hoursResponsible to perform routine administrative dutiesTroubleshoot tooling machine problems and provide feedback to Production SupervisorFill in for Supervisors or Extrusion Technicians on vacation or absences with other Lead TechniciansAll other duties assignedSkills: In-depth knowledge of the extrusion process and familiarity with machining processesAptitude for mechanical processes and mathematical abilityGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a teamAbility to work under pressureGood planning and judgement skillsAbility to work independently and with accuracyDrive to take initiativeExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced environmentDependability, accountability, and responsiveness are essentialAptitude to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedBasic computer skillsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious manufacturing experience or five (5) years of experience as Extrusion Operator/TechnicianFork lift license to operate various forkliftsOrganizational Relationship: Reports to Shift SupervisorPhysical Requirements: Essential functions of this job are to perform a range of physical activities throughout the workday, including climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing and engaging in repetitive motions.An essential function of this job is to lift and or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly.Must be available with predictable and regular attendance onsite to perform the essential functions above under key functions whenever employee is scheduled to work.The above declarations are not intended to be an "all-inclusive" list of duties and responsibilities of the job described, nor are they intended to be such a listing of skills and abilities required to do the job.
