Our engineers have extensive experience with education, commercial, religious, healthcare, sports & entertainment, hospitality, retail, and federal/government projects.\nResponsibilities Manage the overall structural team in engineering and drafting tasks across various projects.\nProvide structural design, directly or indirectly, and serve as the primary conduit for project coordination internally and externally with disciplines such as architecture and MEP.\nManage the project during the Construction Administration Phase, reviewing and managing shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, OAC meetings, and change orders.\nParticipate in coordination meetings with other disciplines, design review meetings with supervisors, clients, and owners.\nAttend work sessions with owner‑client agencies to discuss scope of work and structural design methodology.\nCoordinate design and documentation required to complete construction documents on schedule and within budget.\nAuthor and maintain structural specifications; select construction procedures; determine materials and member sizes; complete all necessary calculations for proper design.\nReview shop drawings, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders; incorporate changes into project documents.\nCommunicate design and coordination items to project team members and author defensible engineering reports, memos, and email correspondence.\nProvide site observations; conduct site walks during construction and author reports based on observations.\nQualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (Master’s preferred).\nStructural Engineering license, S.E. in California.\nMinimum of 5+ years of full‑time progressive structural engineering experience; 3+ years of multi‑discipline project team leadership preferred.\nExperience with the California Division of the State Architects (DSA) is highly desired.\nStrong understanding of state building codes and all applicable design codes including ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.\nProficiency in structural engineering and office tools: ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.\nProficiency in design of structural materials: steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nBenefits Base salary range: $74,357.00 – $111,535.00 (subject to qualifications, location, and internal equity)\nIncentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses\nFull range of medical, financial, and other benefits\nPaid parental leave for birth or adoption\nFlexible scheduling, hybrid and remote work options\nAdditional PTO, extra holiday time between Christmas and New Year’s\nEmployee Assistance Program, professional licensure exam prep library, and continuous education sessions\n401(k) program with company match; Costco / Sam’s Club membership bonus\nDynamic company with quick advancement opportunities\n“Dress for your day” flexible dress policy\nPBK is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
