This role will help deliver the SFHP design to construction completion and commissioning. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of structural engineering including review and checking of design documents and deliverables from the contractors/subcontractors.\n\nTypical experience and duties include the following:\n\nExperience with structural engineering concepts and construction standards, methods, practices and techniques materials and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state and local codes and regulations.\nEvaluate and advise on contracted work to ensure its quality and compliance with plans, designs, and specifications.\nDetermine the adequacy and validity of contractor data and compliance with safety requirements.\nTrack progress and status of projects and contractual change orders using various reporting mechanisms.\nMake on-site inspections of construction sites to determine solutions for potential or actual problem areas, ensure compliance with project requirements and resolve technical issues\n\nQualifications\n\n5+ Years of experience in the design and analysis of structural systems\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET Accredited program\n\nState of Idaho Professional Engineering License or able to obtain within six months\n\nDemonstrated experience working on a range of projects from concept through construction completion\n\nKnowledge of design, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness\n\nFamiliarity with ASTM, ASME, and IBC codes\n\nAbility to understand and follow established Amentum quality procedures\n\nExperience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1\n\nCompetent using Microsoft Office software\n\nAbility to work onsite at Idaho National Lab daily\n\nUS citizenship required\n\nPreferred qualifications:\n\nAble to lead groups of engineers and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.\n\nExperience with Department of Energy (DOE) standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations\n\nMaster’s degree is a plus\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nIntermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same.
