Any employment offer will depend on those conditions being satisfied.\n\nDescription of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:\n\nThe Field Engineer will install, integrate, test, and support mission-critical Voice Switching and Conferencing systems for FAA customers. This is a hands-on role performed primarily at customer locations across the United States. Installations are conducted on site at customer facilities and typically run one to two weeks in length per site.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nConduct site surveys and identify installation requirements.\nInstall, configure, and integrate communications hardware and software at customer sites.\nTest, troubleshoot, repair, and support system cutovers.\nCoordinate field activities with customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams.\nComplete required installation, configuration, and test documentation.\nCommunicate project status and technical issues to the appropriate team members.\n\nRequirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):\n\nCandidates must meet or exceed the following minimum qualifications:\n\nThree to five years of telecommunications, communications systems, field engineering, or similar technical experience.\nAssociate degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience.\nHands-on experience installing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting hardware and software systems.\nWorking knowledge of TCP/IP networking and the ability to read technical drawings and installation documentation.\nAbility to work independently and communicate effectively at customer sites.\nAbility to travel up to 80%, work occasional nights or weekends, and obtain FAA-required suitability and facility access.\nAbility to obtain and maintain an FAA security clearance, including the required suitability determination, background investigation, and facility access credentials for work within the National Airspace System (NAS).\nDemonstrated ability to think outside the box at an engineering level, developing sound solutions to unanticipated field conditions, and a willingness to go the additional mile to complete the installation and satisfy the customer.\n\nNice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):\n\nFAA National Airspace System experience\nAir traffic control, voice-switching, Frequentis VCS, or similar communications-system experience\nVMware, virtualization, or fiber-optic experience\nNetwork certification, such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA\nMilitary communications or federal customer experience\n\nPlease note: This is a contingent-hire opportunity subject to final program authorization, funding, and confirmation of the staffing requirement.\n\nThis is a full-time position paying a base salary, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
