The position is one of providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to provide direct care to the newborn. Assuring all aspects of maternal childcare. Responsibility: Performing assessments, monitoring process of labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care. Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing patient education. Prepares delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers. Administer IV medications, adhere to principles of infection control and general policies of OB department. Knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and equipment.Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure. Must have current CPR certification.
