This role collaborates with software developers, systems engineers, mission operations personnel, cybersecurity specialists, andprogram leadership to deliver reliable, mission-critical capabilities that support spacecraft operations and mission success.\nInterested candidates need to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment; are highly motivated and not afraid to take on uncharted territory; possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; and be able to prioritize their time to be effective in a dynamic environment.\n\nRequirements\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyzes stakeholder, mission, and system requirements and translate them into software and interface requirements.\nDevelops and maintains software architecture products, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and system engineering artifacts.\nSupports software requirements decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation activities throughout the development lifecycle.\nCollaborates with flight software, ground software, cybersecurity, and hardware engineering teams to ensure end-to-end system integration.\nParticipates in system design reviews, software technical reviews, and program milestone events including System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Operational Readiness Review (ORR).\nDevelops and maintain requirements traceability between mission objectives, system requirements, software specifications, and verification activities.\nSupports software integration, test planning, execution, anomaly resolution, and operational readiness activities.\nPerforms system modeling, performance analysis, and trade studies to evaluate technical solutions and support engineering decisions.\nCoordinates software configuration management, change control, and release activities.\nAssists in risk identification, mitigation planning, and technical issue resolution.\nSupport mission operations, anomaly investigations, software upgrades, and post-launch sustainment activities as required.\nEnsure compliance with applicable aerospace, cybersecurity, quality assurance, and mission assurance standards.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.\n9+ years of experience supporting software engineering, systems engineering, or software integration activities.\nExperience with the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, design, integration, test, verification, and validation.\nKnowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, DevSecOps, and traditional waterfall approaches.\nExperience supporting complex integrated systems in aerospace, defense, intelligence, or space environments.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.\nAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle, or ground control systems.\nKnowledge of flight software architectures and command-and-control systems.\nExperience with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.\nFamiliarity with space communication protocols, Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) systems.\nExperience with software integration laboratories, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and mission simulations.\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity requirements for space systems.\nFamiliarity with digital engineering principles and modern software factory environments.\nSecurity Requirements\nU.S. Citizenship\nActive Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance\nActive Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph\nWork Environment\nOn-site work in a government or contractor facility\nOccasional travel (up to 10%)\nAbout LV8D Solutions\nLV8D Solutions is an elite Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) company that delivers advanced systems engineering, integration, acquisition, mission operations, network communications, and cybersecurity support to our defense and intelligence customers.
