This role sits at the intersection of identity, authorization, security posture, and real-time decisioning , and will directly impact how enterprises reduce risk while enabling velocity.\nThis is a high-visibility leadership role with deep architectural influence and ownership of mission-critical systems.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead and grow a high-performing engineering team building JIT access capabilities\nDrive the design and delivery of real-time authorization and privilege elevation workflows\nPartner closely with Product, Security, Platform, and Cloud teams to shape roadmap and execution\nOwn end-to-end delivery of systems that must be highly reliable, low-latency, and secure\nInfluence platform architecture across policy evaluation, approvals, enforcement, and revocation\nEnsure strong operational excellence, including observability, resiliency, and incident readiness\nFoster a culture of ownership, technical rigor, and continuous improvement\nWhat Makes This Role Special\nYou’ll build systems that actively reduce enterprise blast radius\nYour work will be part of zero-trust and least-privilege enforcement at scale\nYou’ll operate at the core of identity, authorization, and security automation\nYou’ll help evolve JIT from a feature into a platform capability\nWhat We’re Looking For\n8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams\nStrong experience with distributed systems, SaaS platforms, or cloud-native services\nBackground in security, identity, access control, or authorization systems\nExperience building low-latency, event-driven, or real-time decisioning systems\nProven ability to translate complex security requirements into scalable engineering solutions\nStrong cross-functional leadership and communication skills\nNice to Have\nExperience with PAM, JIT access, or zero-trust architectures\nFamiliarity with policy engines, RBAC/ABAC, or real-time authorization\nExperience integrating with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) or enterprise SaaS platforms\nKnowledge of auditability, compliance, and security controls\nBenefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.\nAs a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):\n$154,400 - $220,500 - $286,700\nBase salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.\nBenefits Overview\n1.
