Janitor/Custodian

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, including floor care, industrial cleaning, and general maintenance tasks. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to ensure cleanliness. Conduct floor care activities including buffing and polishing to maintain high standards of appearance. Carry out custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings, ensuring all areas are clean and well-maintained. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, addressing any immediate cleaning or repair issues. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote a clean environment. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when restocking is necessary. Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning duties to ensure a safe working environment. Requirements Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred. Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is an advantage. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks. Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting and moving items as necessary. Knowledge of floor care techniques such as buffing is highly desirable.
