Gas Meter Retrofit Technician - Puget Sound, Woodinville WA area

Texas Meter & Device is hiring for a full time Gas Retrofit technician (meter technician) in the ---- Greater Seattle/Woodinville area.---- WE WILL TRAIN YOU.Training starts at $20.76/hour., with an increase to $25/hour after successfulcompletion of training. The training will start after successful completion of all background checks, driving records, and drug screenings. Interviews will be conducted soon. Generally, the position will be full-time, temporary (expected to be approximately 3 months) approximately 8 hours/day; however, there may be overtime required at times. There is a possibility, but no guarantee, of additional work depending on project needs and availability of additional openings. Under the general direction of the Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor, the Gas Retrofit Technician may do a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to module replacements/retrofits, installation, removal and replacement of antennae, cables, or other such devices required to ensure proper gas meter/module performance. TMD will train you.Technicians will report to the warehouse/yard for company vehicle and inventory pick up and return each day in the Woodinville, WA area. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance as there is no per diem nor relocation allowance for these positions. Responsibilities include:Will retrofit a gas module to the existing gas register on residential and commercial class gas metersUse a work order management system to capture and enter site dataMaintain accurate records of work completedOversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools; Operate company vehicle in a safe mannerKeep track of new and used inventoryProper use of an Hand-Held Device (HHD) to collect new meter dataManages daily client communications, data and reportingCoordinates scheduling and meets quality / quantity requirementsProvide courteous and excellent internal and external customer serviceOther duties and tasks as assigned or necessary Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record as technicians will drive company vehicles for routes each day Mechanical aptitude is necessaryMust be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of (personal or professional) driving experience due to insurance requirements Must have work bootsMust have own personal Smart phoneAdditional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law. *** THIS JOB IS CONSIDERED SAFETY SENSITIVE AS DEFINED IN RCW 49.44.240 AND IS SUBJECT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING THAT INCLUDES SCREENING FOR THE PRESENCE OF MARIJUANA AND MARIJUANA METABOLITES. *** Ability to use hand held device and other equipment as required for the position Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time.
