Soil Technician - Min. 1 Yr. of Experience

SA Geotechnical Job Posting- Soil Field Technician Job Description: SA Geotechnical, Inc. is currently looking for full-time soil technician with minimum 1 year of experience to join our team. The candidate(s) role will be to perform geotechnical observation and testing during grading and earthwork operation. They may also assist with geotechnical field exploration (borings, test pits, hand-auger, etc.) and soil related laboratory testing. Majority of our projects are located in Orange County, Riverside County and San Diego County where the candidate will be performing the soil inspection work. Qualifications: Familiarity with (but not limited to) grading, post grading, trench backfill testing, subgrade, aggregate base, asphalt concrete, sand cone and nuclear gauge testing is a must. Applicants must be able to process soil related technical information, grading and utility plans. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 lbs (i.e. nuclear gauges, soil sample bags, etc.). The ideal candidate will have soils field testing experience and a current radiation user safety certificate. Experience in construction/materials inspection (deputy inspector) and appropriate field certification is a plus. Required Skills: The candidate must have ability to drive from site to site, climb rough terrain, shovel/dig and lift equipment. Candidate should have adequate math and analytical skills for soil technician work as well as be able to work independently. The candidate must have reliable transportation, be punctual, enjoy working outdoors and have good communication skills. Requires a California driver license with a good driving record. Employees will be required to drive their own vehicle to and from jobs.
