(5a – 5p & 5p – 5a)1 scheduled day off per weekPosition OverviewAn established food manufacturing operation in Ripon, WI is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to support harvest and processing operations.This role works on agricultural harvesting equipment, transport equipment, and mechanical systems that support vegetable harvesting and plant supply operations.The position includes both shop work during the off-season and field service during harvest to ensure equipment remains operational during critical crop intake periods.The plant processes green beans, Italian beans, wax beans, and carrots and operates a large seasonal harvest operation requiring highly reliable equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural harvesting equipmentDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issuesPerform preventative maintenance and rebuild equipment during off-season monthsMonitor equipment performance in the field during harvest seasonRepair harvesting equipment quickly to avoid crop flow interruptionsOperate and maintain shop equipment including:milllathewelding equipmenthydraulic systemsRebuild mechanical components including pumps, conveyors, and drive systemsFabricate replacement parts when necessaryMaintain maintenance records and track equipment repair costsWork closely with harvest operations teams to ensure equipment readinessAssist with shop organization and preventative maintenance programsRequired SkillsStrong mechanical troubleshooting abilityExperience working with diesel-powered equipmentHydraulic systems troubleshootingPower transmission knowledgeAbility to perform mechanical rebuildsProficiency with hand tools and power toolsBasic welding or fabrication experience preferredValid driver's license requiredCDL beneficial but not requiredPreferred BackgroundAgricultural equipment mechanicFarm equipment technicianHeavy equipment mechanicDiesel mechanicMilitary vehicle maintenance technicianMachine shop technicianCandidates from automotive, construction equipment, or military maintenance backgrounds are also considered.
