We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.\n\nVulcanForms is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Machine Systems Team at our Devens, MA headquarters and production facility.\n\nJob Purpose\nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer at VulcanForms, you will lead or contribute to the design, build, and deployment of mechanical subsystems to support our metal-additive printing operation. In this role, you would often be leading projects and/or other engineers to create and replicate robust and efficient machine systems designed for an industrial-scale additive manufacturing operation.\n\nKey Accountabilities:\nYour main objective will be to design, commission, and support mechanical subsystems for an industrial-scale, high-precision laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) system. You will be working with a variety of compressed gas, water, metal powder, and industrial automation systems.\nResponsibilities will include tracking and driving aggressive project schedules and communication of status, progress, and challenges to engineering management.\nDefining system requirements and specifications for the design, build, procurement, and deployment of machine systems. Designs and systems need to integrate seamlessly with current printer tooling and post-processing equipment while meeting all safety and handling requirements.\nManaging external vendors as required to successfully meet project requirements and schedules.\nOversee and participate in the system integration, machine building, commissioning, and gathering first-hand feedback on the performance of designs.\nDay-to-day work alongside a team of mechanical, controls, and process engineers and technicians in a fast-paced startup environment.\n\nQualifications:\n8 years of mechanical engineering experience, industry or research experience.\nDemonstrated experience in machine or product design, showing successful track record of project completion, from conceptualization to development, verification and validation, and industrial implementation or commercialization.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems.\n\nPreferred\n10 or more years of industry or research experience\nExperience with industrial equipment and automation design for handling and manipulation of heavy structures.\nHands-on familiarity with machine shop equipment and processes (e.g., manual and/or CNC milling machines, lathes, etc.)\nExperience with PTC Creo and Windchill PDM\n\nBenefits\nMedical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available to you starting on your first day of employment\nGenerous time off package, including vacation PTO, sick PTO, and 14 company-paid federal holidays\n401(k) with company match and stock options\n\nVulcanForms Inc. is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing employees with diverse, multi-cultural perspectives.
