Mechanic/Bus Driver
Bus MechanicReports to: Director of TransportationGeneral Summary: To maintain all vehicles in good condition, thereby keeping interruptions to the educational program at a minimum.Essential Responsibilities:Repair work for busesPerforms preventative maintenanceExercises safety precautions and maintains work areaMaintains and monitors complete inventory of equipment, parts and suppliesDiagnoses and repairs problems related to vehicle equipmentFollows preventative maintenance program as designed for corporation vehiclesWorks with head mechanic in monitoring use of inventories and suppliesServes as a substitute for bus drivers as neededExercises safety precautions and maintains work areaPerforms general cleaning, light maintenance of facility and grounds, and attends custodial safety meetingsRequired to hold a CDL license and drive when needed.Performs other reasonably related duties as may be assigned by the director of transportationQualifications:Education – High School Diploma or GEDRequired: CDL Class B with passenger endorsement, air brakes, school bus endorsement.Ability to request appropriate parts/materialsCapable of making accurate diagnoses of mechanical problemsFull Time: 40 Week Position (40 hour a week position)Position Type: Non-Exempt/Hourly
