Our team develops methodologies for power analysis and optimization and for logic design verification and emulation. We partner with project execution teams to address complex engineering challenges and deploy next-generation methodologies across business units throughout the company. As a Program Manager, you will partner with cross-functional engineering teams to manage the development, deployment, and application of methodologies for power optimization and functional verification. You will align stakeholders on solutions needed to attain product targets, drive deliverables, manage risks, and meet schedules.\r\nTHE PERSON:Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work effectively and build collaborative relationships within a cross-functional engineering organization to meet commitments and support successful project execution from concept through production. The individual should be able to independently prioritize responsibilities while collaborating with others, seeking appropriate input, and adapting to complex and dynamic environments.\r\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Define, plan, and drive projects and program plans based on management priorities and senior technical guidance.\r\nApply project management principles effectively across projects of varying size and complexity.\r\nBe responsible for the results of projects or processes of significant technical importance, including initiatives spanning multiple engineering project areas.\r\nIdentify and implement improvements to existing processes and methods to enhance project and team effectiveness.\r\nCreate and maintain project management artifacts such as project dashboards, schedules, resource forecasts, and risk and issue logs.\r\nProvide project status information tailored to the needs of engineering teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior leaders, and facilitate effective cross-team collaboration and communication.\r\nIdentify issues and risks throughout the project lifecycle and develop, implement, and track appropriate action and mitigation plans.\r\nCollaborate with methodology and execution teams to identify risks, issues, dependencies, and potential solutions, and elevate to senior leaders when appropriate.\r\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Demonstrated attention to detail and accountability for commitments, quality, and outcomes.\r\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.\r\nAbility to build effective working relationships, independently prioritize responsibilities, and collaborate as part of a team.\r\nExperience involving relevant team members in planning, decision-making, and execution activities.\r\nPeople management or demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience is beneficial.\r\nAbility to communicate technical and program information clearly and effectively with engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and senior leaders.\r\nExperience developing and maintaining indicators for schedule, quality, risk, and overall program health.\r\nEngineering or technical experience in hardware, software, or methodology development.\r\nExperience leading programs or initiatives within a matrixed or cross-functional organization.\r\nExperience with technical program management and stakeholder or customer relationship management.\r\nExperience collaborating with Engineering, Program/Project Management, and Business Units to solve problems and identify and mitigate risks.\r\nKnowledge of productivity and project management tools, including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, Copilot, or comparable tools.\r\nAbility to use approved artificial intelligence tools appropriately to improve productivity, analysis, quality, or decision-making where applicable.\r\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant education and experience.\r\nLOCATION:Santa Clara, CA; Folsom, CA; or Austin, TX\r\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\r\n#LI=DP1\r\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\r\nAMD and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
