{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"cc37d7aeb822e6b8d413bf1c","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/cc37d7aeb822e6b8d413bf1c","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/cc37d7aeb822e6b8d413bf1c","title":"Senior Site Reliability Engineer","description":"We are seeking a results-driven, team-oriented, self-motivated professional who combines broad technical skills with a high degree of effective communication and collaboration for the position of Senior Site Reliability Engineer working on our Publishing Systems on the AWS Cloud platform.\nAbout the Role Partner with engineering teams on AWS projects that evolve the stability and supportability of production and pre‑production publishing application systems, infrastructure, and environment.\nOwn incidents: identify problems, determine mitigation steps, root cause, preventative actions, and communicate status with the team and stakeholders.\nParticipate in a level‑2 support rotation, acting as escalation for level‑1 support.\nFlexibility in work schedule is required; support is needed off hours.\nIntroduce automation to replace manual operations.\nImplement non‑functional requirements in prod and pre‑prod to ensure system availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, alerting, and efficient incident troubleshooting.\nLeverage and augment standard system tools for collection of AWS metrics for use in improving performance.\nAbout You Education / Experience\nA four‑year degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\n4+ years of operations or development‑related experience.\nQualifications Experience with CI/CD technologies (AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CLI/SDK, GitHub Actions).\nFamiliarity with CI/CD principles (Blue/Green, Versioning, Automated Testing, HA, DR).\nFamiliarity with writing CloudFormation templates.\nExperience using scripting and markup languages (JSON, YAML, Python, Bash, Go).\nExperience working with Git.\nExperience with monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, ELK).\nWillingness and enthusiasm to support a variety of applications across multiple platforms, including pager coverage on a rotating basis and assisting other team members off‑hours with urgent incident/change activities.\nAbility to take ownership of issues and drive resolution with limited assistance.\nKeep up to date with emerging cloud technology trends, especially around DevOps, Service Reliability, and Security.\nArticulate/analyze technical issues, share ideas, and participate in peer discussions and solutions.\nAbility to communicate effectively with technical staff, management, and business team members.\nWhat’s in it For You?
