Accounting ManagerLHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an Accounting Manager. This position supports the financial operations of a public-sector organization by assisting leadership with oversight of accounting functions, municipal revenue processes, and departmental staff. The role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for both supervising personnel and actively participating in daily financial operations. The ideal candidate brings a mix of technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and strong systems aptitude. This position is permanent placement and will pay between $95K and $130K annually.Job DutiesAssist in the oversight and daily operations of finance functions including general ledger, revenue collections, and reportingSupervise and support accounting and finance staff, including assigning work, reviewing output, and providing ongoing guidanceParticipate in and oversee municipal or organizational tax collection processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulationsPrepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesSupport budget preparation, monitoring, and analysis of revenues and expendituresAssist with audits, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparationMaintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and complianceUtilize financial systems and technology to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support automation initiativesServe as a working supervisor, contributing directly to accounting and finance tasks in addition to leadership responsibilitiesCollaborate with leadership on departmental planning, process improvements, and strategic initiativesProvide support with cross-functional financial activities and respond to internal and external inquiriesPerform additional duties as needed to support departmental operationsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a complex or multi-entity environmentPrior supervisory or leadership experience requiredStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingExperience working with financial systems and strong technical/technology skillsCPA, CPFO, or similar certification preferred or in progressExperience with governmental or public sector accounting is a plusPrior experience in public accounting is also a plus.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsEffective communication skills and ability to work across teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with competing prioritiesHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial informationIf you are qualified and interested in learning more, please apply now.
