Working under the guidance of the Development Operations Manager, this role focuses on improving the efficiency, security, and reliability of the firm’s hybrid cloud environments and CI/CD workflows. The engineer will collaborate closely with development, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\nPosition responsibilities:\nBuild, configure, and maintain DevOps infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, on-prem)\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and related tools\nImplement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins\nAutomate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes to support rapid and secure software delivery\nMonitor system performance, availability, and security using tools like Datadog, AppDynamics, or New Relic\nParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem documentation\nSupport release management processes across Dev/Test/Prod environments\nWork with development and data teams to integrate applications into the DevOps-managed environment\nAttend stand-ups and planning sessions to stay aligned with product and infrastructure roadmaps\nProvide documentation and knowledge sharing for operational processes and tooling\nConsult peer teams for feedback during the design, testing, and implementation stages\nAll other duties as assigned or required\nSkills and experience:\nRequired:\nAfter orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications\nAbility to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required\nAbility to travel, as required\n6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps\nProficiency in AWS or Azure architecture, configuration, and security\nExperience designing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions\nStrong Terraform skills, including use of Terragrunt and advanced workflows\nHands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps tools (Flux, ArgoCD)\nFamiliarity with microservices deployment and release automation\nExperience deploying .NET Core containers on Linux and scripting in Linux/Windows\nKnowledge of open-source and NoSQL databases (e.g., MS SQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch)\nExperience with APM tools (Datadog, New Relic, etc.) and IaC security tools (Snyk, tfsec)\nPreferred:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or associated discipline\nExperience with ETL workflows and tools such as AWS EMR, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Hive, Spark, or Airflow\nExperience deploying AKS/EKS/GKE via IaC\nFamiliarity with enterprise Data Lake environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)\nCompetencies:\nExpert analytical/quantitative, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills, with experience performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex technical issues.\nExcellent organizational, planning, and time management skills and ability to work either independently and in a team environment to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines\nAdvanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely\nExperience working with all levels of business professionals, management, stakeholders, and vendors with ability to build effective relationships through trust and diplomacy\nCooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices.\nEOE.\nThe expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $155,000 - $220,000.
