Employees are assigned to an A/B rotating overtime schedule.Hourly Rate$28.20/hour, including shift differentialResponsibilitiesFormulate new color formulations for plastic materials that meet the customers specificationMonitor production color and make corrections to improve likeness to customer specificationsMonitor color process and correct lab color samples utilizing existing samplesOperate twin and single screw extruders, and injection molding machines to create color chipsMaintains a clean working environmentOther duties as assignedSkills And AbilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environmentExcellent attention to detail requiredMust be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality productionRead and follow manuals and proceduresMaintain a clean and safe workspaceMust be dependable and have excellent attendancePossess a positive attitudeMust be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekendWilling and able to work in temperature extremes – hot and coldMust be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit testMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishEducation and ExperiencePassing score on the RTP Company Color TestHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious manufacturing experience preferredPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsThis position must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyveksuit, gloves, etc. Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents. Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
