Diagnostic Imaging Manager
Position SummaryThe Diagnostic Imaging Manager will manage our new Imaging Facility, Alliance MRI!We are looking for a hands-on, operational senior leader responsible for the overall management, performance, compliance, and growth of our new independent outpatient diagnostic imaging center.This role requires a highly experienced imaging professional with deep knowledge of MRI, diagnostic X-ray, and bone densitometry (DEXA) operations, combined with proven management, regulatory, and business acumen.The Manager is fully accountable for clinical quality, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, patient experience, physician relationships, financial performance, and day-to-day operations. This position functions with a high level of autonomy and is expected to independently manage the imaging facility, proactively identify issues, implement solutions, and continuously elevate operational standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical & Technical Oversight Provide clinical leadership and oversight for MRI, diagnostic X-ray, and bone densitometry (DEXA) services to ensure high-quality, diagnostically accurate imaging.Ensure all imaging protocols align with radiologist requirements, industry best practices, and accreditation standardsMaintain oversight of MRI safety programs, including Zone management, implant/device screening processes, emergency preparedness, and staff competency.Serve as the clinical escalation point for image quality concerns, protocol deviations, and technical challenges.Ensure safe and compliant IV contrast administration practices, including staff competency validation and emergency response readinessOversee quality assurance, control, and preventative maintenance programs for allimaging equipment.Operational & Facility Management Manage daily operations and ensure efficient patient flow.Develop, implement, and enforce policies, procedures, and workflows that support efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.Oversee scheduling, staffing models, and coverage planning to meet operational demands while controlling labor costs.Monitor and improve turnaround times, patient throughput, and service efficiency.Ensure accurate and compliant use of PACS, RIS, and electronic medical records, including workflow optimization and documentation standards.Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing, IT systems, and facility needs.Leadership & Staff Management Lead, mentor, and manage technologists and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Recruit, train, and retain employees.Conduct performance evaluations, competency assessments, corrective actions, and professional development planning.Ensure all staff maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education.Act as a visible, engaged leader who sets expectations, resolves conflicts, and maintains morale.Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Ensure compliance with NJ regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, and radiation safety standards.Lead and manage all aspects of ACR, The Joint Commission, or other applicableaccreditation processes, including audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.Ensure ongoing readiness for unannounced inspections and regulatory reviews.Maintain comprehensive documentation related to safety programs, quality initiatives, and compliance activitiesFinancial & Business Responsibility Manage budgets and monitor expenses.Analyze operational metrics and trends.Partner with leadership to improve payer performance, operational efficiency, and service line profitability.Oversee supply management, inventory control, and vendor relationships to control costs without compromising qualityPatient Experience & Physician Relations Ensure delivery of an exceptional patient experience, with emphasis on safety, comfort, communication, and service excellenceAddress and resolve patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionallyServe as a key liaison to referring physicians and radiologists, ensuring clinical expectations are met and relationships are strengthenedSupport business development efforts by maintaining strong clinical and service standards that differentiate the facilityRequired Qualifications Graduate of accredited radiologic technology programARRT certification in Radiography (R) requiredARRT certification in MRI (MR) requiredActive New Jersey state licensureCurrent BLS/CPR certificationDocumented competency in IV contrast administration and MRI safetyAdvanced experience in outpatient diagnostic imaging operations, including MRI, X-ray, and DEXA services.Demonstrated leadership and management experience in an imaging or healthcare environmentStrong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirementsProven ability to operate independently, make sound decisions, and manage competing priorities.Preferred Qualifications Bone densitometry certification (ISCD CBDT or ARRT equivalent)Experience managing an independent or freestanding outpatient imaging centerExperience leading accreditation surveys and regulatory inspectionsStrong business, financial and operational analysis skillsWork Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to be physically present in clinical and operational areasAbility to assist with patient needs as required.Flexibility to meet operational demands, including occasional extended hours
