Preventative Maintenance Technician

The company is consistently recognized as one of San Antonio’s largest and fastest-growing private employers, with multiple awards for growth and business performance.Role Description The Preventative Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX, responsible for maintaining and servicing construction equipment and related machinery. This role performs scheduled preventative maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and parts replacement to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. The technician diagnoses issues, troubleshoots mechanical and basic electrical problems, and completes repairs in the field and in the shop. Daily tasks include documenting service work, maintaining accurate maintenance records, coordinating with supervisors and operators on equipment needs, and ensuring all work complies with safety and company standards. The role may also assist with ordering parts, maintaining tool and equipment inventory, and supporting other maintenance team members during peak workloads.Qualifications Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance, with experience servicing heavy construction or similar machinery.Strong Preventive Maintenance skills, including scheduling, performing routine inspections, and identifying issues before failures occur.Hands-on Maintenance & Repair capabilities, including mechanical repairs, component replacement, and basic hydraulic and electrical work.Knowledge of safety practices related to construction equipment maintenance and commitment to safe work procedures.Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, service bulletins, and basic technical drawings.Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills to track maintenance activities and parts usage.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.Previous experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or a similar field-based maintenance environment preferred.High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance is a plus.CDL w/Hazmat endorsement and Manual Endorsement required.
