Assignment Length:Ongoing coverage need Start Date:As soon as credentialed Openings:1 Reason for Coverage:Long-term permanent search Practice Setting: Inpatient coverage 31-bed NICU 20-bed Step-Down Nursery Average 950 admissions per year Group includes 9 Neonatologists and 4 Pediatricians Schedule: 12-hour shifts Day and night coverage needed Average 8-10 PPD in NICU, 10-12 PPD in Step-Down Nursery Patient Population:Neonates EMR:EPIC Credentialing:30-60 days Requirements: Active Maine licensure Board certification NRP certification Minimum 1-year Neonatal experience or equivalent Travel Benefits: If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are eligible for travel benefits. You will have your travel and lodging arranged by our travel department and paid for in full. Provided Travel Expenses: Round-trip flight Rental car and fuel Mileage reimbursement (in lieu of flight and rental car) Lodging Job Responsibilities (Generalized): Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices. Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team Education Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) Licenses & Certifications: Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Maine National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners AANP ) Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty Additional Notes: Locum tenens APP positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing APPs to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload
