Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\n\nLabcorp is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Daphne, AL.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am-4:30 pm (some flexibility needed; potential weekend coverage needed in an emergency)\nJob Responsibilities\nSupervise the day to day operations of the Department/Lab Name department\nEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner\nDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department\nMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage\nResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed\nResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary\nEngage in continuous process and service level improvements\nEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control\nPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents\nEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations\nMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development\nPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations\nEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations\nResponsible for administering and managing policies and procedures\nProcess and maintain payroll and personnel files\nPerform administrative duties as needed\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology\n5 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience\nPreferred Qualifications\n6 months or more of supervising or leading a team\nASCP or AMT certification\nAdditional Job Standards\nIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements\nUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures\nExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment\nStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations\nAbility to work independently and within a team environment\nProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems\nHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills\nComfortability making decisions in a changing environment\nAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position\nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test\nFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs\nAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
