Network Controller
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Controller to support a company focused on delivering secure, reliable command-and-control and network operations services to the Department of Defense. This position is on-site at Scott AFB, IL or Hill AFB, UT . The Network Controller will provide 24x7 global network operations and incident management support across mission-critical DoD networks, ensuring uninterrupted communications for warfighters and national leaders. This role directly supports national security by keeping the DoD Information Network operational, resilient, and secure.
Responsibilities for the Network Controller include
Proactively monitor and troubleshoot a live, global DoD network using network management and monitoring tools
Resolve circuit and network issues using router commands, loop testing, alarms, and error analysis
Research and diagnose monitoring errors using technical documentation and established procedures
Create, update, and manage incident tickets using Remedy
Escalate complex or unresolved issues in accordance with operational procedures
Required Qualifications for the Network Controller include
3+ years of relevant experience (high school diploma required; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)
Experience with network operations functions such as alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management
Hands-on experience with networking technologies such as routers, switches, crypto devices, Cisco, Juniper, DWDM, MSPP, or optical switching
General understanding of IP and transport network topologies and the ability to work in a 24/7 operations environment
8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required at start date
Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; DoD
Compensation for the Network Controller include
Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience
