Financial Analyst II - Budgeting & Reporting

We are looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team, where you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact helping to shape the future of our company and industry.ResponsibilitiesLocation: North Houston – 100% in-officeMaintain Excel-based Long-Term Financial Projection Model (“Model”)Maintain quarterly Excel-based Investor ReportingPrepare annual Excel-based Financial and Region-level budgetsMaintain Historical Operations Summary when needed (2-3 times a year)Analyze Lease Operating Expenses and book monthly accrualsAnalyze Capital Expenditures and book monthly accrualsPrepare monthly Depletion calculation and prepare accrualsAssist with interim and year-end audit by PricewaterhouseCoopersResearch and answer General Ledger questionsResearch and answer Lease Operating Statement questionsRun LOS for various departments upon requestModify LOS formatsAssist with Budget and Board Meeting presentationsSpecial projects as assignedQualificationsMinimum of 6-7years of accounting experience, with 4-5 years of upstream oil and gas industry or public accounting experienceFirm understanding of financial statements, including cash flow statements and consolidationWell developed financial analysis capabilitiesGood communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with management, as well as other departmentsWorking knowledge of the various departmental activities in an upstream E&P company and their interface/integration with the Accounting departmentAbility to work on several projects simultaneouslyStrong working knowledge of Excalibur or other similar accounting systems requiredExpertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup commands, macros, togglesProficient in Word and Outlook applicationsPowerBI, Tableau and PowerPoint skills a plusEducationFour year degree in Accounting and/or FinanceCPA or MBA a plus
