Progress through trade.\n\nEssential Job Functions:\nAPPRENTICE 1 (0-12 months) $20-22/hr\nDevelop good working and safety habits\nUnderstands terminology and the use of power and hand tools\nRequired to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 1\nAttends all Design Mechanical’s Apprenticeship training classes regularly and outside schooling, if available\nHas basic math skills\nAttentive to instructions and assists the journeyman in all phases of work\nCan document approximately 2,000 hours of employment\nPerform laborer tasks including sweeping, cleaning, delivering, loading and unloading, etc.\nOther duties as assigned\nAPPRENTICE 2 (12-24 months) $23-24/hr\nAll Apprentice 1 responsibilities plus:\nRead non-complex blueprints and detailed drawings\nRequired to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 2\nUnderstands simple heating and cooling systems\nCan solder/braze up to a two-inch copper tube\nHave basic skills in the use of cutting torch and welding\nHelp install equipment\nDocument approximately 4,000 hours of employment\nOther duties as assigned\nAPPRENTICE 3 (24-36 months) $25-26/hr\nAll Apprentice 1 & 2 responsibilities and:\nUnderstands and can read architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans and their details\nCan lay out and install small jobs with supervision\nCan pipe hot water boiler per plans\nRequired to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 3\nCan hook up hot and chilled water coils per plans\nAble to solder/braze up to four-inch copper tube\nCan document approximately 6,000 hours of employment\nOther duties as assigned\nAPPRENTICE 4 (36-48 months) $27-28/hr\nAll Apprentice 1, 2, and 3 responsibilities plus:\nApplication for certification at local jurisdiction as required, i.e., Denver\nKnow heating and cooling design and complete all jobs per Design Mechanical’s standards\nRequired to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 4\nCan complete all jobs successfully in terms of labor and material budgets\nHave a good understanding of piping systems and how they operate\nCan document 8,000 hrs. of employment\nUpon graduation, obtain Denver Journeyman Steam Fitter and Gas Service Certificates\nSupport the total quality effort.
