Join us.\n\nJob Description\n\nAECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in either our Arlington or Glen Allen, VA office. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of transportation projects. Entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a program designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.\n\nImagine working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects.\n\nThis role is expected to start Summer 2027.\n\nJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n\nDesign of new bridges\nDesign for bridge rehabilitation projects\nDevelopment of bridge maintenance and repair plans\nPerforming load ratings for bridges\nDesign of transit structures\nBridge and tunnel inspection and evaluation\nVarious tunnel engineering support services\nPreparation of construction plans and specifications\nPreparation of cost estimates and schedules\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\nBachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.\nDue to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nRegistration as an E.I.T.\nStrong technical writing and presentation skills\nFlexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels.\nFlexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs\nMust be detail oriented and demonstrate good problem solving ability.\nGood interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.\nAbility to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms.\nMasters Degree preferred.\nPrevious experience with Internships.\nSoftware Experience: AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office and Structural Analysis Software experience.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\n\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
