This role requires a strong full-stack engineer with deep expertise in Java development, cloud-native architectures on AWS, and modern front-end development using Angular. \rThe ideal candidate is a highly adaptable engineer who can quickly learn complex business processes, contribute across the full application stack, and thrive in an environment that balances ongoing platform support with new feature development. This position will play a key role in several strategic initiatives while also helping maintain and enhance existing systems. \rKey Responsibilities Software Development & Architecture \rDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Angular. \rBuild scalable REST APIs, microservices, and backend services supporting high-volume business applications. \rDevelop and enhance Angular-based user interfaces and full-stack application features. \rParticipate in architecture and design discussions, helping define technical solutions for complex business requirements. \rTranslate functional requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions. \rContribute to modernization efforts and new product initiatives while supporting existing applications. \rCloud & DevOps \rDevelop and deploy cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services including ECS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, S3, and related services. \rBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms. \rSupport application monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational excellence practices. \rImplement infrastructure and deployment automation to improve reliability and efficiency. \rPerform code reviews and promote software engineering best practices. \rUtilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Kiro, or similar technologies to improve development productivity. \rCollaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, QA, security, and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions. \rTroubleshoot production issues and participate in ongoing application support and maintenance activities. \rMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects. \r7 years of professional software engineering experience. \r~5 years of hands-on Java development experience. \r~ Strong experience building applications using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks. \r~ Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS cloud environments. \r~ Experience building front-end applications using Angular. \r~ Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms. \r~ Experience with container technologies including Docker and cloud-based container platforms. \r~ Strong understanding of software design principles, testing methodologies, and secure coding practices. \r~ Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL. \r~ Experience working in Agile development environments. \r\rExperience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB. \rExperience supporting high-volume transactional or customer-facing applications. \rExperience with application performance tuning and cloud optimization. \rFamiliarity with learning management, testing, certification, or educational platforms. \rExperience leveraging AI-powered development tools and modern engineering productivity practices. \rStrong Java engineer with the ability to work across the full application stack. \rHybrid work arrangement in Rockville, MD or Tysons Corner, VA. \rOur expertise spans across project services, contract-to-hire, direct search, and managed services onshore, nearshore, and hybrid.
