Product Owner – Automation Framework

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Product Owner – Automation Framework to lead automation initiatives for In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems built on Virtualized Android, Linux/QNX, and Qualcomm SOM platforms. In this role, you will own the automation framework vision and backlog, work within an Agile Scrum team, and collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality automation solutions for embedded and infotainment platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & Strategy Own the vision, roadmap, and product backlog for the Automation Framework supporting virtualized Android- and Linux-based IFE systems. Prioritize automation features and enhancements based on business value, technical feasibility, team capacity, and program timelines. Define and track KPIs related to automation coverage, stability, efficiency, and adoption across platform teams. Guide automation strategy to support: Virtualized Android environments Linux and QNX subsystems Qualcomm SOM-based hardware platforms IFE system integration and certification workflows Automation Framework & Technical Collaboration Work closely with Android platform engineers, Linux/QNX teams, Qualcomm chipset specialists, and virtualization architects. Develop a strong understanding of automation framework architecture, including: Hardware abstraction layers Virtualized interfaces Device-Under-Test (DUT) orchestration Test execution and reporting pipelines Ensure automation tooling aligns with system validation, integration labs, and CI/CD workflows. Agile Delivery & Backlog Management Write clear and well-structured epics, features, and user stories for automation tooling, framework improvements, APIs, and test workflows. Lead backlog refinement sessions with engineering teams to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with automation strategy. Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Engineering Lead to enable predictable, sprint-based delivery. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact between automation engineering teams and product/program stakeholders across PAC. Gather and consolidate requirements from: System verification and validation teams Platform software teams (Android, Linux, QNX) Airline program teams Integration and test labs Communicate roadmap, progress, risks, and dependencies clearly and regularly to stakeholders. Required Qualifications 7–10 years of mandatory relevant experience in product ownership, automation frameworks, or embedded/infotainment systems. Strong experience with Automation Frameworks in complex platform environments. Hands-on exposure to: Virtualized Android environments Linux and QNX operating systems Qualcomm SOM / chipset-based platforms In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product ownership best practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in avionics, aerospace, automotive infotainment, or safety-critical systems. Familiarity with system integration labs and certification processes. Experience defining automation KPIs and scaling automation across multiple teams or platforms.
