Route Driver
Parts Route DriverThe parts route driver is responsible for loading, delivering parts and or attachments, do daily safety inspections of the van/truck equipment, daily paperwork, provide preventative maintenance on van/ trucks and other general parts department duties as directed by the Inventory control Manager.Essential FunctionsDriver Drives over an established route. Document needed paperwork.Safely operate and utilize safety restraints on delivery vehicle and powered industrial trucks (Forklifts & Pallet Jacks)Perform required daily inspections on delivery vehicle and powered industrial trucksTrack and ensure required maintenance and service is performed on delivery vehicleOperate delivery vehicle in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local lawsUtilize and properly maintain all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Ensure delivery vehicle is safe, orderly, and maintained in order to eliminate potential hazardsSecure parts, equipment, etc. in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local lawsOther FunctionsAssist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.'s objectives.Cooperate with and follow motor vehicle accident and incident reporting safety guidelines and requirementsCommunicate safety concerns to appropriate personnel.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAble to manage time effectively.Able to communicate verbally and in written form effectively as appropriate for the needs of the customer or coworkers.Able to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.Strong attention to detail.Able to process work with accuracy.Able to complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner.Able to work effectively in a team environment.Meet commitments and deadlines.Able to work a flexible schedule as needed.Demonstrates openness to new procedures, technology and structure.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to lift and push a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently. Employee must be able to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand, sit and kneel for an extensive amount of time. Able to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.Education/Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required. At least one year of past experience preferred but not required.Work EnvironmentOperate a motor vehicle in various whether conditionsExposed to outside elements and weather conditions to include, extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain, ice, wind and foggy conditions.Surface work area will include, gravel, dirt, asphalt, concrete, etc.Work conditions vary and may include shop settings, high traffic areas, and rural environments.Physical RequirementsConsistently be able to stand, sit, and kneelPossess ability to load and unload delivery vehicle from ground level multiple times per day, lifting parts ranging between 5lbs. to 50lbs.Use hands and fingers to grip, feel, and reachBe able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawlAbility to walk up and down stairsAdhere to safety policies and standards and wear required personal protective equipmentRequirements and ExperienceMust be 21 years of age, or olderPossess a valid state issued driver's licenseSatisfactory motor vehicle record free of major/multiple moving violationsMust be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screenMurphy Tractor & Equipment Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
