This role provides executive leadership over software architecture, development, validation, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business priorities, product innovation, and regulatory requirements. The SVP drives the evolution of scalable, high-quality software solutions, establishes engineering excellence, and builds a high-performing organization to support Masimo's growth and technology leadership.\r\nDuties & Responsibilities:\r\n\r\nLead and develop a global, multi-layered software engineering organization, including leaders across embedded, platform, application, and systems engineering\r\nDefine and execute the enterprise software strategy and roadmap aligned with product, business, and customer needs\r\nOversee end-to-end software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, verification, validation, and release to production\r\nEstablish and drive engineering standards, best practices, and governance across all software teams to ensure scalability, quality, and consistency\r\nDrive innovation in software technologies, platforms, and architectures to enable next-generation medical device and digital health solutions\r\nDefine and drive the enterprise cybersecurity strategy across software platforms, including secure architecture, product security, and regulatory compliance.\r\nPartner cross-functionally with Product Development, Algorithm Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and IT to deliver integrated solutions\r\nLead the adoption and optimization of modern development methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native architectures)\r\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, IEC, and global quality standards\r\nBuild and scale software platforms and products that enhance customer experience, operational performance, and business differentiation\r\nIdentify and implement opportunities for efficiency, cost optimization, and process improvement across the software organization\r\nServe as the primary software engineering leader interfacing with executive leadership, providing strategic insights and technical direction\r\nDrive organizational design, talent strategy, succession planning, and leadership development across the function\r\nFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement\r\nEvaluate and integrate emerging technologies, partnerships, and external capabilities to advance business objectives\r\nProvide leadership on complex, high-impact technical challenges requiring cross-functional and enterprise-level solutions\r\nPerform other responsibilities as assigned\r\n\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\n\r\n15+ years of experience in software engineering, including development of complex, high-reliability systems\r\n8+ years of progressive leadership experience, including leading leaders and large, distributed engineering organizations\r\nDeep expertise across multiple software domains, including embedded systems, applications, and cloud technologies\r\nExperience with cloud platforms, data systems, and connected device ecosystems\r\nProven track record of defining and executing software strategy at an enterprise level\r\nStrong experience in regulated environments, including FDA, 510(k), and quality systems (GMP)\r\nDemonstrated success delivering complex products from concept through commercialization\r\nExperience establishing engineering standards, development processes, and scalable architectures\r\nStrong business acumen with the ability to translate technical strategy into business impact\r\nExceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders\r\nAbility to work onsite Monday-Friday in Irvine, CA\r\n\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\n\r\nExperience in medical device, healthcare technology, or physiological monitoring systems\r\nBackground in both software and firmware/hardware integration\r\nExperience leading organizations through transformation, scaling, or post-acquisition integration\r\nAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field\r\n\r\nEducation\r\n\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.\r\n\r\nLanguage requirements\r\n\r\nAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.\r\nAbility to interpret technical documents, schematics, and written instructions.\r\nAbility to clearly document technical findings and communicate with cross-functional team members.\r\n\r\nCompensation\r\nThe anticipated salary range for this position is $272,000 - $370k plus benefits. Actual placement within this range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 35% annual bonus based on company, department, and individual performance.\r\nPhysical requirements/Work Environment:\r\nThis position primarily works in an office environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other digital devices is required.
