This position an integral part of the broad spectrum of specialized security services Inter-Con provides its clients every day.\nSpecific benefits include:\nCompetitive Pay\nRecognition and Reward Programs.\nTraining and Career Development.\nOpportunities for Medical, dental, Holidays, vacation and sick, and 401 (k) retirement plan.\nUniform and equipment provided\nAdditional benefits vary depending on position.\nJob Description:\nPatrol city streets, city facilities, recreational areas, and any private locations via motor vehicles, bicycles, or on foot, designated routes, and staggered-time schedules, with primary responsibility of enforcing city, state and federal parking laws and regulations, and perform duties as directed by a police supervisor\nIssue parking citations for vehicles in violation of city, state, and federal parking laws and regulations\nAssist with the enforcement of private property regulations, enforcement of regulations in parking facilities, and assisting with public service as needed\nProvide customer service as needed to give directions, information, phone numbers etc.\nParticipate in any hearing process or subsequent process involving a contested or challenged parking citation or incidents involving assigned officers\nLocate and report to designated city staff vehicles that are subject to being impounded or immobilized as a result of vehicles having a specified number of delinquent parking citations and/or for any other vehicle subject to towing under the vehicle code or local ordinances\nReport to designated city staff any unlawful act or any condition or deficiency which may pose a hazard or danger to the general public\nQualifications:\nBe physically and mentally capable of performing all job-related duties\nHave the ability to understand, speak, read and write in English\nHave the ability to follow and give oral and written instructions in English\nBe able to legally, safely and properly operate necessary equipment and tools\nBe able to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions\nHave the ability to establish and maintain cordial and effective working relationships with the public and city staff\nHave the ability to remain calm and use good judgement and initiate in a confrontational or emergency situation\nRequirements:\nBasic:\nBe at least 18 years of age or older\nHave the legal right to work in the United States of America\nPassing a developed reference check, drug screening test and medical examination to determine fitness to perform assigned duties\nMust be able to legally, safely, and properly operate necessary computer databases, equipment, and tools\nAbility to speak, read and write in the English language and be able to write intelligible reports\nEducation & Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED\nExperience in daytime parking enforcement\nLicensing, Permits & Certifications:\nValid California Driver’s License\nPossession of valid permits, licenses, and certifications required for the performance of job-related duties\nBSIS Guard Card\nPhysical & Mental Requirements:\nHave the ability to walk for several hours or distances\nBe able to operate motor vehicles\nVeterans\nInter-Con is passionate about hiring veterans.
