Our culture drives excellence through our shared values of integrity, safety, people, and the planet.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nInstalls, removes and maintains electrical lines, equipment and fiber optic cable by efficient and safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment and specialized tools.\nCoordinates line work activities with various departments, contractors and the general public.\nRestores electrical service by trouble shooting electrical lines and equipment.\nMinimizes outage duration by effectively diagnosing problems and planning/implementing restoration activities.\nDuring the normal work day, occasionally works without direct supervision.\nMay be the first to respond to trouble calls or outages, requiring development of appropriate response and safeguarding of the public.\nRequired to work effectively and courteously with and around the public at all times regardless of conditions.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain positive working relationships.\n\nEDUCATION:\n\nHigh school graduate or equivalent.\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\nApprentice Level – Over one year of job related experience as a lineworker or candidate has completed a Technical College Lineworker training program. (3rd 6 months or higher)\n*Level to be determined based on experience and qualifications.*\n\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\nThis position will report regularly in person to Eveleth, MN.\nMust possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and valid Medical Certificate.\nThis position is subject to Federal DOT FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act) regulations.\nThis position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude\n\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\n\nThe expected hourly compensation range for this advanced apprenticeship is $45.97 – $53.15.
