You will serve as the primary face of the\nprogram for your assigned student group, ensuring a safe, positive, and faith-centered\nenvironment where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually.\nPrimary Responsibilities 1. Group Facilitation & Supervision Maintain direct supervision and ensure the absolute safety of students at all times.\nLead daily program schedules, including student arrivals, transitions, snack/meal coordination, and evening dismissals.\nFoster a positive, inclusive, and respectful group culture that reflects Christ-like character among students.\n2. Academic & Ministry Curriculum Delivery Implement and facilitate daily academic enrichment activities, including homework assistance, reading/math review, arts and crafts, team sports, and STEM projects.\nDeliver faith-based programming, including devotionals, character-building lessons, and ministry-focused discussions.\nAssist in organizing and supervising special program events or potential field trips (including loading/unloading transportation safely).\nAdapt curriculum and activities to actively engage students of varying skill levels, learning styles, and spiritual backgrounds.\nUtilize positive behavior reinforcement strategies to effectively manage classroom and recreational dynamics.\nDe-escalate student conflicts quickly and compassionately, looping in the Program Coordinator when necessary.\nAct as a positive Christian role model, demonstrating character, empathy, integrity, and servant-leadership.\nCoordinate daily logistics and program needs directly with the Program Coordinator and fellow Instructors.\nWelcome parents/guardians during evening check-out and provide brief, positive updates on student progress and behavior.\nHelp maintain the cleanliness, organization, and stewardship of classrooms and shared ministry spaces alongside the facility team.\nQualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with elementary or middle-school-aged youth (e.g., after-school programs, camp counselor, Bayside Kids, youth/kids ministry, tutoring, or coaching).\nEducation: Current college students (18+) pursuing degrees in Education, Ministry, Social Work, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply.\nSkills: Strong communication, active conflict resolution, and the ability to maintain high energy and focus after a full school day.\nClearances: Must pass a mandatory criminal background check and fingerprinting prior to the start of the program.\nPhysical Demands: Ability to participate in outdoor recreational activities, lift up to 25 lbs, and remain active on your feet for extended periods.\nGeneral Information The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
