Job Title: Occupational Therapist for Developmental Disabilities

**Position Overview:**
We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist specializing in developmental disabilities, you will play a crucial role in assessing clients' needs, developing tailored intervention plans, and implementing strategies to enhance their functional abilities and overall well-being. This position is approximately a 50/50% home/travel position.
**Responsibilities:**
· Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' strengths, challenges, and individualized goals.
· Develop and implement client-centered intervention plans focused on improving activities of daily living, sensory processing, fine motor skills, and adaptive behaviors.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including Speech Therapists, Behavior Analysts, Physical Therapists, and Recreational Therapists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
· Provide indirect therapy services to clients in various settings, including homes, schools, and community-based programs.
· Monitor clients' progress, adjust intervention strategies as needed, and document outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
· Educate clients, families, and caregivers on effective strategies and techniques to support skill development and promote independence.
**Qualifications:**
· Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Virginia.
· Experience working with developmental disabilities of all ages is a plus.
· Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, with proficiency in developing individualized treatment plans.
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively independently and in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team environment.
· Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting best practices in occupational therapy.
· Must be able to pass a background check, Virginia Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, and a List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) check.
· Must be able to create own work schedule, while meeting job requirements.
