We approach every business problem with blinding originality.\n\nThe successful candidate is fearlessly creative, imaginative, curious, organized, and collaborative within a multi-disciplinary network of professionals at the forefront of our analytics and technology R&D efforts and is comfortable in a fast paced, high-energy environment.\n\nJob Duties:\n\nWorks with industry leaders to brainstorm analytic ideas, prioritize features, define scope, and iterate with continuous feedback from industry leaders and pilot teams\nLeads and develops a growing team of highly motivated analytics and automation professionals\nManages analytics projects and workflows with increasing levels of complexity\nApplies working knowledge of business concepts to analytical and visualization routines in Power BI, including data models, queries, DAX formulas, and report visuals\nDevelops and deploys data analytics techniques, tools, and templates to improve audit quality, as well as enhance engagement efficiency, and acceptance of emerging methods.\nEnsures data analytics visualizations are easy to use, conform to internal standards, and provide value to engagement teams and clients\nCollaborates with stakeholders from the Professional Practice, National IT, National Innovation and BDO Global teams as needed\nApplies knowledge of financial data systems to ensure our data model is structured appropriately for repeatable, reusable analytics routines\nFurthers BDO’s innovation efforts and personal development by devoting 15-20% of time to projects involving emerging technology, including but not limited to advanced analytics, research and development activities and other forward-looking projects and experiments\nMonitors engagement team feedback and incorporates iterative improvements into existing audit data analytics routines\nDevelops and conducting training sessions for individual data analytics routines that are clear, engaging, and hands-on with examples\nSupports proposal activity and defends current clients from competitor behavior by incorporating data analytics and innovation into go-to-market approaches\nOther duties and projects as required\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\n\nManages workflow and resourcing across project teams\nActs as a technical lead for the project teams and helps teams find solutions for the most complex technical challenges\nProvides strategy and direction for analytics and automation projects\nInvests in team members’ professional development through training and process instruction\nProvides clear and timely feedback to team members in a constructive manner\n\nQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required\n\nExperience:\n\nSeven (7) or more years of accounting or finance experience, required\nPrior supervisory experience, required\nPrior project management experience, required\nData Analytics or other related experience, preferred\nDemonstrated initiative in learning, adopting, and/or applying innovative approaches and technology, preferred\nCertified Information Systems Analyst certification, preferred\n\nLicense/Certifications:\n\nCertified Public Accountant license, required\n\nSoftware:\n\nExperience with data visualization tools, required\nProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, required\nWorking knowledge of accounting and audit methods, required\nExperience with Power BI, preferred\nCan read, interpret, and/or have some understanding of Power Query, M language and DAX, strongly preferred\nWorking knowledge of SQL, preferred\n\nLanguage:\n\nN/A\n\nOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Preferred\n\nHigh level of curiosity and eagerness to learn\nAbility to think critically to solve problems\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nExcellent organizational and analytical skills\nDemonstrates attention to detail while also understanding the big picture\nAbility to work effectively in a team setting\nPositive attitude and willingness to take on challenging assignments\nCan take initiative and self-direct in the absence of detailed guidelines\nComfortable managing deadlines for multiple deliverables and thrive in a fast-paced, open environment\nDemonstrated ability to effectively lead teams and developing others\n\nIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.\n\nNational Range: $135,000 - $200,000\nMaryland Range: $135,000 - $200,000\nNYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $135,000 - $200,000\nAt BDO, how we show up matters.
