This role manages a team of optical development engineers and works cross-functionally to deliver innovative, high-quality optical solutions from concept through mass production.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nLead and manage a team of optical development engineers to design and develop optical systems and components.\nDrive product development from concept, design verification, and validation to mass production.\nOversee optical system architecture, simulation, prototyping, and performance optimization.\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, reliability requirements, and customer specifications.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.\nManage project schedules, resources, risks, and budgets to meet business objectives.\nWork closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure product quality and scalability.\nSupport customer engagements, technical reviews, and executive presentations as needed.\nPromote innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the team.\nQualifications:\nMaster’s or Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.\n8–10+ years of experience in optical product development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.\nStrong expertise in optical system design, fiber optics, photonics, and high-speed interconnect technologies.\nFamiliarity with optical simulation tools and high-speed signal integrity analysis.\nHands-on experience with optical components such as lasers, modulators, photodetectors, and transceivers.\nDemonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and complex development programs.\nSolid understanding of reliability testing, qualification processes, and industry standards.\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.\nSalary Range\n$200,000 - $225,000\nThe salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
