News Anchor - KPLCKPLC-TV in Lake Charles seeks a dynamic anchor to join our news team. A successful candidate must be a proven leader, motivated, and passionate about storytelling. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator who excels in delivering a variety of stories in scripted and breaking news situations. The ability to cultivate sources, enterprise stories, and produce at least a weekly story is a must. Applicant must have a love for local news, a passion for creative storytelling, and the drive to be a mentor to other journalists. Responsibilities go beyond anchoring newscasts. They include, but are not limited to, generating story ideas, shooting/writing/editing stories for broadcast, digital, and social platforms, and acting as an ambassador for 7News. Maintaining professional social media accounts and assisting the team in showcasing stories are vital. Please note - primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the information listed above. Qualifications include possessing strong delivery and reporting skills, along with the ability to adlib. The successful candidate must also be proficient in digital platforms and meet social media and CTV goals as outlined by management. Experience in shooting/editing own stories and a college degree in journalism or a related field are also required. Driving is required for this position, so an MVR check is required.
